The weather was good and over 30 aircraft visited. All visitors were well looked after  – the Toastie  machine was back at full throttle and Pamela did a great job keeping everyone “topped up”. The meal on Sat evening was delicious and the Wine & Beer very drinkable  . . . just ask *******  .

Sligo Airport is hosting a Flyin  – starting Fri 4th Sept and continuing on Sat 5th  & Sun 6th. A large amount of aircraft are expected so let’s hope the weather is good. For further information visit the Airport website at:  http://www.sligoairport.com

Congratulations to our members, Eamon Gilroy  and Nathan Flynn  who recently sucessfully passed the PPL Licence Skills Test. Eamon did his test (EASA PPL) at Sligo in EI-BIB with examiner Colman Brady. Nathan did his test (FAA PPL) in Florida having completed his FAA PPL course at the Naples Air Center. Both hope to progress to ATPL

Congratulations to Eddie Eccleston who recently “aced” the Theory Exams – all subjects passed at one sitting  . .  . again ! Now its time to set the sights on the PPL Skills Test !

Congratulations to Cian who completed his 1st Solo in EI-BIB on Sun. Nov 23rd. Cian flew a number of solo circuits under the watchful eye of CFI Ken O’Brien. Cian is to be complemented as he has achieved this milestone with less than 8 hours instruction.

Congratulations to Nathan who completed his 1st Cross Country Solo on sat Nov 22nd – Sligo to Knock for a Touch & Go and then back to Sligo.

The Main Menu Item “Links”  has been revised. Several new links have been added  including Weather, Skybrary (a great source of aviation information) and a link to the GASCI site (General Aviation Safety Council of Ireland) which also provides a long list of useful links.

Both Cessnas were weighed by Planeweighs Ltd on Thurs 18 Sept 201. The new Basic Empty Weight (BEW) for each aircraft means that all future Weight & Balance calculations must be done using the revised BEW data. Note: If you have “old” BEW data  in your Flight Planning kit please destroy it immediately and replace
